Postdoctoral researcher, Experiment leader

2017 - 2020

Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics, Ion Cyclotron Heating Group

  • An optimization of the operating parameter space at the plasma test facility (IShTAR) to study wave propagation. The lower-hybrid resonance formed in the direct vicinity of an RF antenna in tokamak is the subject of numerous parasitic phenomena which result in an deterioration of the antena surface. An output of this study gives a direct recipe on the positioning of the lower-hybrid resonance layer right in front of the RF antenna and imitate conditions as in practical fusion devices
  • Diagnostic development and maintenance
    • The development of 3-dimensional, sensitive and heat resistant magnetic (B-dot) probes.
    • The development of RF-compensated Langmuir probeS.
    • Spectroscopic measurements of plasma parameters.
  • Studies of the helicon plasma source. The study on power and particle balance in a helicon discharge. The study on particle transport mechanisms in helicon discharges.
  • Coherent coupling of several 1 kW magnetrons with the purpose to develop a powerfull and cheap microwave ECR plasma source.
